Functionality
The default version of Document Capture integrates with GOS (Generic Object Services), though it can be modified to work with other services upon request. For more details on using GOS to create, display, and attach documents to SAP objects, refer to SAP OSS Note 530792. This note provides additional information, including system table references related to document storage and processing.
The Document Capture app offers a range of functionalities to manage images, signatures, and comments effectively.
Users can:
Manage Images: Display existing captured images, capture or upload new images, and delete images as needed.
Manage Signatures: Display existing signatures, capture new signatures, and delete signatures.
Manage Comments: Display existing comments, edit them, capture new comments, and delete comments.
The app also provides flexible configuration options:
Specify which utilities are required, such as image capture only or both image and signature capture.
Define the order in which utilities are used, for example, capturing an image before a signature or vice versa.
Set utilities as mandatory, ensuring that at least one image or comment must be captured.
Limit the maximum number of items that can be captured for each utility.
File Attachment Capabilities:
Attachments, including comments, images, and signatures, can be linked to specific SAP objects:
When Integrated with PreBilt Transactions: Files can be attached to purchase orders, inbound deliveries, outbound deliveries, transfer order headers, and physical inventory documents (IM and WM).
When Using Standalone Mode: In addition to the objects listed above, files can also be attached to material documents, material masters, scheduling agreements, purchase requisition items, and shipments.
