Signature Capture

This section details the development aspects, including key classes, function groups, and methods used to manage signature capture. The guide is intended for SAP consultants and IT professionals responsible for implementing and maintaining image capture functionality.

Prerequisites

Configuration requirements

  • PreBilt EWM Framework must be installed and configured.

  • SAP Image Repository or External Web Link for signature image Storage.

  • GOS or DMS for Attachment services (if attatching to business objects)

Technical prerequisites

  • Users must have the necessary SAP authorizations (/TCTM/*) to execute transactions and access signature capture functionality.

Implementation considerations

  • Image capture and display must be configured within relevant warehouse processes such as picking, putaway, receiving, and inventory counting. Signature Capture is included in the screen configuration and appears as a button on the screen. When pressed the button launches a dialog box allowing the user to add a signature with their finger. A watermark can be configured with dynamic data from the EWM RF screen.

  • Additional effort may be required to configure the image repository and authentication settings.

Functional overview

Signature Capture functionality within PreBilt for EWM™ provides the ability to capture a users signature with sign on glass for various logistical processes. This capability enhances operational efficiency by enabling warehouse personnel to capture signatures directly from mobile devices, which are then stored in SAP or external repositories for retrieval as required.

Extra element configuration

Signature Capture is configured as a PreBilt Ectra Element in transaction /TCTM/EWM_CUST.

Add a new Extra Element named SIG_CAP and add the following parameters, the number of URL key/value and Watermark Key/value pairs can vary based on your requirements:

In the 'Value Types' section configure the URL and the URL and Watermark Keys to be 'Fixed Value'. For each URL and Watermark Value add an entry for 'Fixed Value', 'RF Structure Field Value from Backend' and 'RF Structure Field Value From Frontend'.

In the Relevant Authorizations section add the following:

Adding Signature Capture to an RF screen

Signature Capture can now be added to any RF screen as an extra element. In transaction /TCTM/EWM_CFG find the RF screen and add an extra element of type SIG_CAP.

Under the Parameters section add the configuration:

Once the extra element has been configured on an RF screen it will appear as a button in the UI. If there is an existing signature it will appear above the button:

On pressing the button, a dialog box will appear with an area to capture the signature:
