Assigning field roles for table types

Field roles affect how information is displayed and prioritised across different table types. These can be maintained at the screen field level within the relevant logical transaction using transaction TCTM/EWM_CFG.

Field table role

Each field in a logical transaction step can be assigned a field role.

When the SEL table role is paired with the LSEL field type, it provides a more efficient and user-friendly navigation experience.

Instead of manually selecting an item by entering a number, the entire row is made clickable. After tapping or selecting the row, the LSEL field is automatically populated and the system moves forward without requiring further input. This removes the need for page navigation for the OL & TA table types and manual number entry for all table types , making the process faster and more user-friendly.

Example

Table type "SL" (Step Loop) is set for transaction INSTBI, step INSTSB and table role SEL combined with LSEL field type.
