Transition Activities
The activities listed represent the typical steps involved in a PreBilt deployment as you progress through each environment/client. Actual tasks may vary depending on your system landscape, configuration, and project requirements. Task ownership may also differ based on customer‑specific roles and responsibilities. This list is not exhaustive and may be adapted to suit your implementation.

Pre Cutover
Access to each environment and client(s)
Ensure all team members have required roles, authorisations, and SSO access. Validate access before cutover to avoid delays

Pre Cutover
Obtain SAP system installation number for PreBilt licence
Required to generate the correct PreBilt licence key for each environment

Pre Cutover
Importing the base framework
The PreBilt base framework must be imported into each environment before any other transports

Ensure all PreBilt users know their SAP user IDs and passwords
Confirm credentials are active and tested. Recommended to perform a quick login check

Technical Cutover
Move all transport requests into the target system
Maintain a log of transport requests, their sequence, and any follow‑up actions. Coordinate with the responsible team to import transports as required

Functional Cutover
Validate all applicable development (workbench & customizing) transport requests
Ensure all PreBilt‑related objects are present and active, and check that there are no missing dependencies

Apply PreBilt licence
Install the licence key in all relevant clients. Validate that the licence is active and not expired

Apply PreBilt timeout settings
Apply recommended session timeout values and validate changes

Assign correct service users to relevant nodes

Ensure device type is associated with the correct display profile

Validate authentication and UI launch. Capture any issues for remediation

Ensure consistent number ranges across clients

Ensure messaging group configuration matches project requirements.

Only required when Gamification is in scope and configured

Install mobile client on device
Verify that the device can successfully connect to SAP. Confirm certificates and security settings where applicable. If using an APK, ensure the correct version is installed for the corresponding environment

Create and configure and Validate access for RF users with correct roles and warehouse assignments

Test PreBilt login via mobile device
Verify and ensure device can connect to SAP. Test authentication, performance, navigation, and barcode scanning

Run critical or high-volume processes to verify system readiness before go-live
