v5.7.0 release notes

Here are the enhancements, updates and bug fixes made in PreBilt IM/WM/StRM v5.7.0.

Wrench New AMD maintenance functionality

To help make the mass maintenance of app master data ('AMD') more straight forward, especially during new implementations, transaction /TCTM/WM_CFG_D has been enhanced to allow the download and upload of AMD for multiple PreBilt transactions at the same time.

More info...

The download function works in the same way for multiple transactions as it does for a single transaction. However, instead of entering a complete transaction in the 'Transaction Code' field, you can enter a wildcarded criteria before pressing 'Enter' and the 'Download Entries' button.

Likewise when uploading form a file that may contain multiple transactions, AMD will only be upload and over-written for transactions and fields that exist in configuration (as per standard upload functionality) that also match the wildcard entry in the 'Transaction Code' field.

Magnifying glass left Pre-upgrade system interrogation tool

A report has been created to allow the project team performing a PreBilt upgrade to easily identify the existing custom classes and enhancements so that the code can be analysed to see if it can be deactivated or is still required.

More info...

New report /TCTM/WM_ENHANCEMENTS_REPORT can be run in transaction SE38. The results are dispayed in a table by Class, showing the Super Class, Method and/or Enhancement containing custom code.

Clicking the "Source" button will display the code change.

Muscle Further updates and enhancements

Base Framework

  • Transaction /TCTM/WM_TEXTID_REPORT (used for checking Text ID allocation in AMD and configuration) has been updated to identify text IDs used in AMD and configuration that have been inadvertently created with an ID code that has more than 8 characters. SAP only supports text IDs of 8 characters.

  • Filters in the ALV report generated in transaction /TCTM/WM_TEXTID_REPORT now work for the columns 'Column ID', 'AMD Value' and 'Converted'.

  • Improvement to the existing "clear" functionality whereby only open input fields (i.e., not those marked as "Read Only") are cleared using the "CLEAR_INPUT" action.

  • A specific error message has been added to show when the number of user licences has been exceeded.

Goods Receipt External

  • AMD can be set to allow the units of measure for a particular material to be displayed in a pulldown list.

  • Remaining Quantity and Basket Quantity are both being calculated and displayed for Scheduling Agreement items.

  • Basket Quantity appears on the Item List screen, consistent with standard display expectations.

  • The over-tolerance calculation now uses the total PO quantity rather than the open quantity.

  • Items deleted or blocked in a PO or scheduling agreement are ignored by the app.

  • The vendor's name is now available for use in AMD to display on screens in the PO, scheduling agreement and inbound delivery flows.

  • Vendor batch numbers can now trigger new SAP batches in the app. If a vendor batch is already in the basket, the quantity is added to that SAP batch. If not, a new SAP batch is created. This check only works if the vendor batch field (e.g., VBATCH_IN) is included on the basket screen (LIST_xx_BASKET) in the AMD for the relevant document type (e.g., PO, SA).

  • In systems where the batch is managed at a plant level, batch checks will now use the plant being processed in the PreBilt app transaction.

  • The selection logic has been enhanced to exclude PO and SA items from the app when the open receipt quantity is zero. Exceptions occur when the "Unlimited" tolerance flag is set and the "Delivery Complete" flag is not set.

  • The app now supports the use of the WM Special Movement Indicator, allowing for different warehouse management outcomes such as suppressing transfer requirement and transfer order creation during receipt processing. The indicator can be retrieved from the material master, manually entered by the operator, or predefined and hidden through configuration in AMD.

  • The putaway quantity calculations have been improved to include IM items that are valid for putaway.

  • Operators can enter quantities using any convenient unit of measure, thanks to improved handling of unit conversions. PreBilt has been reconfigured to consistently use the Order or Document Unit of Measure, rather than the Price or Base Unit. All quantity calculations are converted to the Order or Document Unit—regardless of the unit originally entered—before being displayed in fields such as Open Quantity, Remaining Quantity, Basket Quantity, and others.

  • Operators can now exclude specific document types (INB, OBD, PO, SA, RTN) from selection. This behavior can be configured in AMD, with the control fields provided hidden by default.

  • Enhanced the tolerance checking for STO goods receipts so that the operator is immediately warned if they try to receive more that what has already been goods issued.

  • The app now supports additional movement types beyond 101, including two‑step receipts. Operators can select the movement type on the selection or item input screen, or it can be fixed in AMD. Two‑step receipts (e.g. 103→105 or 107→109) are supported, with the second step limited to the quantity received in the first. For second‑step receipts, the movement type must either be selected on the selection screen or already associated with the item (as in inbound deliveries).

  • The storage location pulldown lists for purchase orders and scheduling agreements have been enhanced with two options:

    1. Display All Storage Locations: To display all storage locations for a given plant, use field classes /TCTM/WM_APP_500_FIELDS_PO for purchase orders and /TCTM/WM_APP_500_FIELDS_SA for scheduling agreements within the AMD for the fields STOR_LOC_IN or STGE_LOC_IN.

    2. Display PreBilt Warehouse Locations: To display only storage locations within the PreBilt warehouse, use the field class /TCTM/WM_APP_500_FIELDS.

  • For the goods receipt returns process:

    • Improved basket quantity display so it now reflects expected values in all scenarios, including when processing multiple delivery items.

    • Updated material and item number handling in INPUT_RTN_BASKET to ensure consistent and accurate display.

    • Enhanced tolerance checking to align with SAP configuration, with an option to continue using a simplified delivery quantity check via SIMPLE_TOL.

    • Refined field class layout to match the structured presentation used in other document types.

    • Improved basket item editing so tolerance checks work correctly without adding the previous quantity to the edited quantity.

    • Adjusted basket item editing logic to ensure no unintended removal of items during edits.

    • Improved summarisation logic so entries with the same details are correctly grouped when using Basket Summarise option A.

    • Updated batch requirement logic so batch entry is not requested when zero‑pick is selected.

    • Added flexibility to allow the return delivery to be posted once all items are processed with either a positive quantity or the zero‑pick flag.

    • Applied stricter posting rules when the RECEIPT_ALL_xxx flag is set in AMD or when complete delivery is required (LIPS‑KZTLF = 'C'), with zero‑pick exceptions respected.

Stock Movements

  • Improved screen flow during system‑guided picking in WM when confirming an item with a discrepancy.

  • Resolved an issue with WM verification profile settings not being refreshed for those users switching between PreBilt warehouses.

Physical Inventory

  • If there are errors in posting the count results back into SAP, there is now improved handling of the error messages associated with each basket.

General Postings

  • The app now supports issuing to network orders using movement type 281. New configuration set "GINO" has been added to configuration and AMD settings.

Picking and Packing

  • The app now automatically sets the "short pick" field to "B" when "Zero Pick" is selected. This is the only valid option, eliminating the need for additional input by the operator.

Plant Maintenance

  • Selecting Maintenance Orders for a specific Maintenance Plant successfully retrieves the required orders.
