# Introduction

IM Multi Bin Management enables advanced stock location capability for operations that physically manage inventory in multiple storage bin locations but only use SAP Inventory Management (IM).

IM Multi Bin Management is an alternative to WM (Warehouse Management), where multiple storage bins are needed for basic warehouse processes such as goods receipt, order picking and physical inventory. It is not designed as a replacement of WM, but an intermediate solution between standard IM and standard WM.

The plant and storage locations that requirement multi-bin management are assigned to the PreBilt warehouses in the usual way but there are addition transactions, configuration and database tables used in the /TCTM/ namespace to keep track of bins and the stock within them.

**IM Multi Bin Management Framework (Catalogue no. 702)** controls the solution for the IM Multi Bin Management.

**IM Multi Bin (IMMB) Bin to Bin/Putaway (App no. 608)** allows the movement of stock from one Inventory Management (IM) bin to another.

Packages **608** and **702** are required to be included in the PreBilt license setup.
