Functions and Features

Note

This Functions and Features page contains differing sections of useful, additional information and topics related to each app which may be of a functional or technical nature.

Inbound deliveries: Goods receipt before putaway

Because the Goods Receipt app has been written to support both goods receipt before putaway and also putaway before goods receipt (often used in handling unit operations), there is some item category configuration in SAP that is used to determine which flow is appropriate.

In the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG), table TVLP needs to be maintained with an appropriate setting for the "Relev. for putaway" field for the relevant item categories in the inbound delivery.

The field "Relev. for putaway" (TVLP-KOMRL) must be "blank" if you want to allow goods receipt to be performed with the PreBilt app before the creation and putaway of the transfer orders.

In the the IMG you can maintain the table with the following path:

IMG > Logistics Execution > Shipping > Deliveries > Define Item Categories for Deliveries

Alternatively you can maintain the table directly in customizing with SAP transaction SM31 and table view V_TVLP.

This applies to both IM and WM storage locations.

Inbound deliveries: Goods receipt before putaway (WM)

For WM specific storage locations because the Goods Receipt app has been written to support both packed (in handling unit) inbound deliveries as well as unpacked deliveries, there is some handling unit configuration that needs to be set in the SAP, when receiving into WM storage locations, regardless of whether handling units are used or not.

If you are using the PreBilt Goods Receipt app for unpacked inbound deliveries with WM warehouse storage locations, then in the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG), table TVLR needs to be maintained if you want to perform the goods receipt of the inbound delivery BEFORE the transfer order creation and putaway.

In the the IMG you can maintain the table with the following path:

IMG > Logistics - General > Handling Unit Management > Basics > Delivery > Define Sequence of Transfer Order - Goods Receipt

Alternatively you can maintain the table directly in customizing with SAP transaction SM31 and table view V_TVLR.

To allow the app to process the GR before the transfer order putaway, you must identify the warehouse and item category of the delivery and mark "Gds mvmnt befTO" as active (as shown).

Failing to maintain this entry will mean that the WM status on the delivery item will need to be set to "C" (Complete) before the app will be able to process the goods receipt, which means that the delivery will have to have been putaway before you will be able to process the goods receipt.
