# User Guide
This section will show you how to complete goods movement processes from Inventory Managed (IM) or Warehouse Managed (WM) storage locations.

**Note**
This user guide refers to PreBilt transactions beginning '*PB2\_*' and details the standard process without additional features or enhancements. You should [copy these transactions](/prebilt-for-im-wm-strm/configuration-guide/transaction-codes.md#create-a-transaction) with a different prefix to maintain a backup and protect the originals.
The General Postings app can be accessed via the Stock Enquiry app. If stock is being issued from a storage bin in a WM storage location then the source storage type and bin will be transferred through to a transfer order. The TO will need to be confirmed in a Stock Movements transaction. This user guide will assume direct access to the General Postings app.

The General Postings app can be configured to allow you to make postings for a range of major business processes as detailed in the [Functionality](/prebilt-for-im-wm-strm/applications/general-postings-migo-and-vlmove/functionality.md) section. These processes are managed through a number of PreBilt transactions operating in a similar way, as detailed below.

### Selection
Select from the list of processes that have been setup for you. For example, **'Goods Issue'.**
Select the relevant movement type that has been assigned to the selected process.

**Note**
When posting with reference to reservations and orders, there will be additional selection to allow searching for the relevant reservations or orders. You will see this, for example, in the transactions *PB2\_GEN\_POSTING\_RESV and PB2\_GEN\_POSTING\_PP*.
This screen then replaces the manual input of the material details and then directs you to the item input screen once you have selected the appropriate reservation or order.
You will see something similar in the VLMOVE transaction *PB2\_GEN\_POST\_VLMOVE*, which is used to manage goods movements of handling units.

### Complete material and item details
Enter the required information to complete the material details. Fields marked with a red asterisk (\*) are mandatory.
After pressing **'Select'**, enter the required information to complete the item details. Fields marked with a red asterisk (\*) are mandatory.
Depending on app configuration, you can:
* **Post Immediately** - to post the item straight away. (Depending on how the app is setup, this action may require further data to be provided on the posting screen, as below.)
* **Add To Basket** - to add the item details to the basket to post later.
* **View Basket** - to display items already in the basket for posting (if applicable).

### Process the basket
Depending on app configuration, you can:
* **Add New Item** - to add another item to the basket, repeating the process above from the item input screen.
* **Empty Basket** - to remove all the items from the basket.
* Tap the **'X'** icon to the right of a line of posting data to delete that line only.
* **Exit** - to go back to the initial selection screen without emptying the basket.
Tap **'Process Basket'** to post the basket and depending on how the app is setup you may need to input the document date, posting date and any other required information on the posting screen below.

### Post material document
Tap **'Post'** to post the material document and see a confirmation message displaying the document number.

## Displaying and cancelling material documents
The General Postings app can also be configured to allow a user to display material documents in a list and view item details.

### Selection
Select **'Material Documents'** from the list of processes.
Select the relevant movement depending on whether you want to display or cancel the material document.
Enter the required selection criteria to create a physical inventory document to count. Fields marked with a red asterisk (\*) are mandatory.
Tap **'Continue'**.

Tapping **'Post Immediately'** will post the cancellation straight away.
Tapping **'Add To Basket'** will add the cancellation to the basket for processing later.
