APS Addon Service

As part of the Auto Palletiser Service (APS) addon executable needs to be configured to run as a service, this can be done by using the standard windows 'SC Create' command. The service should be set to run automatically in the background running the CodingControl (APS) core processes and handling any configured manufacturing tasks and also automatic goods receipt posting (if configured) CodingControl core tasks.

The required APS Windows service will need to be

1. On the server navigate to the Windows 'Services' detail screen.

   
2. Locate the 'CodingControl' service, 'Right-Click' and select 'Properties'.

   ℹ️ The following configuration is proposed for efficient execution and recovery if any issues or unplanned server restarts occur.

   1. General - 'Start Type' set to 'Automatic (Delayed Start).

      1. This sets the service to only start once the server has fully rebooted to prevent delay due to service queueing if a server reboot planned or unplanned occurs.

   2. Recovery - Set all failure options to 'Restart the Service'.

      1. This will ensure the service is automatically restarted with no requirement for manual intervention.
