# Material Determination

1. Select 'Change' mode
2. Select 'New Entries'.
3. Enter the material number to be used.\
   \
   :information\_source: 'f4' is supported to display a list of available configured material numbers on the system.<br>
4. Enter the 'Valid from' and 'Valid to' dates.\
   \
   :information\_source: This is the validity period that CodingControl will reference when selecting the template. Once the 'Valid to' date has passed for configured entry the referenced template will not be used. \
   \
   :information\_source: If no additional entries are configured for the template or alternate templates for the same material group no template will be determined with no output produced. &#x20;
5. Once all values have been configured select 'SAVE' to confirm.
